Job Title Community Fundraising Officer x 2 (Cork and Dublin)
Description

24 hours per week (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

Overall Purpose of Job

The Community Fundraising Officers will ensure that fundraising activity is implemented locally to deliver targets and increase income in line with Fundraising Strategy. They will also provide support to the National Fundraising Manager (NFM) who manages the nationwide rollout of all national fundraising, fundraising initiatives and community fundraising for Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA).

Liaison

For the successful running of IWA’s fundraising campaigns, direct communication with the Fundraising Department Team will be essential to the role. You will also liaise directly with local staff, service users and members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the other Fundraising staff to develop to the full potential the existing key projects within IWA’s Fundraising Calendar including the Angels Campaign, Church Gate Collections, IWA Monthly Draw and IWA Annual Car Draw

  • Responsibility for identifying and implementing new and innovative fundraising events with other Fundraising Team Members

  • To work closely within your region to identify new opportunities for fundraising development within the educational sector

  • To contribute to and deliver against annual budgets, targets and plans working alongside the National Fundraising Manager and other Community Fundraising Officers

  • Responsibility for recruiting and working with fundraising volunteers in the community and supporting them in their fundraising activities

  • To support IWA staff, branches and volunteers with their fundraising activities and help identify new community opportunities for IWA

  • To ensure that fundraising presents a positive and professional image, which promotes IWA’s vision, mission and objectives

  • To carry out any other relevant and appropriate duties as may be reasonably assigned from time to time by the National Fundraising Manager

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Training, Experience and Qualifications

 

  • 3rd level qualification (ideally in Event Management, Fundraising Management, Marketing, Business Management, Communications, or similar) is essential

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Fundraising is essential

  • Experience in delivery of financial targets is required

Knowledge and Skills

  • An understanding of fundraising principal and best practice is required

  • Computer literate including use of databases and Microsoft Office suite is essential

  • A full driving license and own car are required

  • An awareness and understanding of the work of Irish Wheelchair Association is desirable

  • Highly organized with ability to work under pressure, prioritise & multi task

  • Flexibility in relation to hours of work in order to meet requirements of role

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Salary between €15,847 and €26,394 (DOE, pro-rated)
